New Guide to Online Business: Launching Soon *PreOrder Now*

Online Business GuideI have just completed a guide to not only starting an online business but also keeping one running and profitable. This is currently a 40+ page step by step guide on a variety of topics.

What makes this guide different is that not only was it hand written by myself based on my own experience and success (no ghost writers here), it is a pure content eBook. If like me you have bought a few eBooks in the past that boasted 50+pages of content, you will know that they usually have more like 5 pages of real content once you strip away the advertising and self promoting. My guide is pure advice.

In addition to the already useful and complete guide, anyone purchasing a copy will also get the latest chapters emailed to them as soon as they are complete. These chapters will be written in the same helpful and easy to understand writing style and will focus on specific techniques which are extraordinarily useful for promotion of your new business and adding profitability.

This product is launching on March 27th but Off the Top of My Head readers can get an advance copy at a reduced price. When it launches, it will be offered at $37. In the run up to launch, you can secure a copy (Plus the bonus chapters as they are released, as well as bonus material emailed on the 27th) for the low price of $25.

To get your guide right away (it is emailed to you within 24 hours of payment, although within an hour in most cases), just use the payment link below:

Review: Pyramid Linking

Posted by Jason on April 20th, 2006 — in Reviews

Pyramid LinkingI usually review sites which are related in some way to blogging but I am going to shift the focus slightly today to review a site which is more closely related to site promotion. I came across todays reviewed site, Pyramid Linking, in a well known webmaster forum and although at first I had no interest, I revisited it a few weeks after its launch.

The basic principle is if you put x amount of links on your site, over time you will get double the number back, hence the pyramid. You sign up for an account, enter your details and it automatically spits out the HTML code you need to place on your link page. Once you have finished that step, you validate that the links are there and you will then be “owed” the double links. On top of that, in an effort to promote the site, if you refer anyone to the program and they add a site, you get an additional five links. There is a basic problem there in that being its a pyramid system, there comes a point when there just aren’t enough sites to keep the older ones happy. You can add to that scenario the fact that people can buy links (I imagine those paying get priority), and that if things slow down too much there could be a mass exodus which will only grow larger and larger.

All of that being said, I am impressed that the owner of Pyramid Linking did put in considerable work on what is a unique and workable idea. If some of the issues are addressed, it could be a successful site long term.

Now to my experience with setting up an account and using Pyramid Linking. The actual setup process was quite intuitive and quick. The only issue I ran into is that in some categories, there seems to be very little screening of the links which you are asked to place in your site. For instance out of the 30 I agreed to place, there was 1 for “P*nis Pills”, 3 for enlarging or shrinking parts of the female anatomy (not the breasts), and one that was simply “http://” (no actual url). They do have a nice option to regenerate the entire code but it doesn’t seem to function. It would be vastly improved if you could report and regenerate individual urls right from that screen. There have also been many complaints of cheating webmasters using orphaned pages or excluded ones. I can’t comment on this aspect yet as I am fairly new to the process.

As far as how many links I have gained, it is still at 0 but as the owner has consistently claimed the links build up slowly, I am going to give it 30 days and re-evaluate it. There is new ownership in the last two weeks so hopefully it provides a boost of energy and most of the concerns are addressed and fixed. I like to see people trying something new rather then recycling the same old templates and ideas so although this review may sound quite negative, I am actually hopeful that this site overcomes its issues and in 30 days time I am writing a completely different review.

Review: Blog Explosion

Posted by Jason on March 5th, 2006 — in Reviews

When someone passed along the url to Blog Explosion and I had my first look, Blog ExplosionI was all set to blast it in my review for basically being a paid to surf site for blogs. For those not familiar with these types of sites, basically you surf other peoples sites in a frame and you get credits which are used to determine how much your own site is displayed. Typically these are filled with crap and because of that are prone to all kinds of abuse, none of which delivers a single legitimate visitor. With blogs however it seems to be a little different. Before I go into that aspect though, I will give a bit of a review on the usabilty and look of the site.

Although this site is a bit busy for my taste, I will give it some credit that it has a very intuitive interface. I arrived at the site knowing nothing about it and within a very short span of time, I had a good idea of their offerings. I also expected the traffic exchange feature to be the most prominent yet there is actually a lot of info about blogging, a bit of which I hadn’t seen elsewhere (Most is same ol’ same ol’ but is at least organized well).

There are also lots of unique features such as battles where you can challenge another blog in a public vote. If you win you get their credits that they put up. The credits aren’t particularly valuable but in the blogging world, it is nice to be able to get the type of feedback a battle may provide.

Now back to the traffic exchange program. I would have never tried it, had it not been for this review but I actually surprised myself. I have no idea if it brings any legitimate traffic but I can say from the surfers perspective, I found it extremely interesting. I love well written and interesting blogs and I am amazed at the number of blogs I have bookmarked after finding them through the surf function. Its true that there are some pretty bad ones but unlike a traffic exchange, the majority aren’t half bad.

Overall, despite all the bad reviews I have read myself, I would have to actually reccomend taking a look at this site. You just might find you like it.
