I DID abuse the system...well, not me exactly. I was explaining to my step-son the different ways our site makes money (we're a gift registry for ALL occasions) and when I showed him the AdSense stuff, he later clicked on them with excess frequency, thinking he was making us money. SSsooo...when Google pulled my account, I told them the truth and that my step-son now knows not to do that. Needless to say, they were NOT impressed with my upfrontnes.
