Stingrays Now on the Run - Alert Lowered to Yellow
It seems after the cowardly stingray community killed one of our own, we are finally taking up arms in an attempt to silence their fundamentalist ways which pose a danger to our way of life. It seems after the atrocity commited last Monday, forces have been mobilized.
Sorry about that but I was reading a news story in the Times that just boggles the mind. It seems that after the freak (yes freak as death by stingray is extremely uncommon) death of Australian great Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin last monday, a small group of people have put the blame on all stingrays worldwide. According to the times:
At least ten stingrays have been found dead and mutilated on Australia’s eastern coast in the last week in what conservationists believe could be revenge attacks for the death of Steve Irwin
The story goes on to give the theories on why there has been a surge of stingray deaths along the Australian coastline. Apparently they are in “retaliation” for Steve Irwins death. Talk about muppets!
Of course, in any Stingray Jihad there are those that strike back and then there are those that profit. Those in the profit camp seem to have created a video game where you can mangle your own Osama Bin Laden Stingray in an attempt to get the justice you surely deserve.
A website has created a game called Terri Irwin’s Revenge, depicting the naturalist’s wife firing at stingrays underwater. The aim of the game, which is being circulated via e-mail, is to kill as many stingrays as possible without getting hit

This is just plain crazy because the one thing that Steve wanted to do in life was to teach us all to tolerate and embrace wild animals. In fact the movie he was filming at the time of his death was to show how misunderstood these creatures really are.
He’s turning is his grave.

Wow. That is sick. That is a new one. Kindof reminds me of the Simpsons episode where the dolphns took over springfield, except this time it is stingrays, and they are not trying to take over, anything at all. yeah.

This is bad. Humans & stingray war. There are many wild animals which can kill human. You can’t kill all the tigers, if one tiger kills a man.

I agree with Jessica, you can’t judge a whole community with the actions of a few people who belong to that community.
Same goes true for animals.

Well in Asia, we eat barbequed stingrays.
i think steve went the way he would’ve liked. in the midst of something he loved doing.
how many of us can claim that?
